My Thoughts

Sharon was a wonderful artist to work with. Her watercolor and oil paintings were breathtaking and she is an artist who doesn't know her own powers just yet.

The exhibition focused on nature and the love of the live subject matter. Her works were larger scale and required a more precise handling as even the frames were custom made for each piece in mind. The subject matters come from images that she and her other siblings took while on separate adventures to India, Africa, and other non European spaces. Trees that were hundreds of years old, rabbis and monks who worked with her on one of her excursions, fishermen who she got to know along the way. Sharon's work showcases the focus on the smaller narratives that create a full world for us to live in.

When installing her show I made sure that the space felt just as alive as her works did. Plenty of space between the works, and featuring some of the most colorful pieces in her collection. Showcasing micro and macro scale works depicting flora and fauna along side unnamed colorful portraits. Utilizing the works to tell a story of an environment like that inside of a plen air sketchbook.
