My Thoughts
This exhibition was one of the more experimental exhibitions I curated, all the works had a variety of textures, subjects, and though there were many sculptural pieces all were meant for the walls which created a unique challenge of space. With just 35 artists, majority from the United States, I was pleased to showcase artists from Canada, Singapore, and collaborate with artists from Greece and London.
I went into this exhibition wishing to showcase to the public how photography has evolved so much from the time the first photographic paper was exposed to light, and is still continuously changing as the rest of the world absorbs, documents, and experiences life. A simple landscape can be expanded and manipulated into an object, or an object manipulated into a 3D photograph. Photography is one of the most unique mediums as it has morphed from a tool to use for science, history, and documentation to now were the possibilities are limitless and keep evolving alongside our modern day technology with no looking back.
